Pilates is a movement therapy that promotes balance, strength and flexibility through a series of exercises.

It is a safe, effective, low impact activity and is beneficial for general fitness, specific health conditions and most of all for your overall well-being, it is often used to supplement other therapies or exercise programs. Regular practice can help prevent injury and relieve stress and tension.

Pilates is a repertoire of exercises devised in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates called this “Contrology” because his method uses the mind to control the muscles. These movements are based on his principles of - Concentration, Breathing, Centering, Control, Precision, Flowing movements, Isolation and Routine.

Group classes held in Aberdeen city centre, morning and evening classes are available.

Classes are a mix of traditional Pilates Matwork exercises, modified where appropriate, Fitness Pilates and Functional Core movements.
Small equipment is also used to add resistance and challenge the body further.

Only Intermediate classes are operating at present, however it may be possible to join these with prior experience of Pilates or by completing a introductory session.
