The Council funded the assessment and treatment of employees who were absent on long term sickness or who were persistent absentees.

Employees were referred to myself for an initial 6 treatment sessions.

Employees were suffering from a range of conditions including:

  • Repetitive strain injury (RSI) of the fingers and wrists from poor workstation set up
  • Chronic low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain and restriction
  • Work related and non work related stress
  • Long term Post natal depression
  • Crohn's disease
  • and many other conditions

The results of this programme were:

  • 96% of these employees returned to work and remained at work following their designated 6 sessions.
  • 2 of these employees were found alternative employment within the Council to reduce their stress levels
  • 1 employee left the Council to commence working in a field she had been considering for some time
  • 1 employee required further treatments, which the Council funded.
  • Some employees returned to work earlier than the 6 weeks (mainly after 3 treatments) and continued with the remainder of their treatment sessions
  • 60% of these employees continued with their treatments (self-funded) for at least 3 months afterwards, whilst remaining at work.
  • Many employees continued with their self-funded treatments for 6 and even 12 months afterwards for maintenance treatments on a regular basis.
  • Many of these employees also recommended my clinic to their colleagues, friends and family, with one person referring 11 of her family along for help.
  • The Council's Employee Welfare Team were satisfied with the results from the treatments and began referring employees who were shorter term absent or at risk.
