Getting the best from your treatment
Planning your treatment:
- Make your appointment for when you have little planned afterwards. This way you will be able to gain the maximum benefit in terms of relaxation and rest if you need to.
- Drink plenty of water the day prior to and the day of your treatment. Your body responds better to treatments if it is well-hydrated and the detoxifying effects of the treatments are much less inconvenient. (Following a treatment you can feel tired or sometimes feel as if you have a cold coming on)
- Plan to arrive just a few minutes early for your treatment. At the first appointment you will need to complete a consultation form, which can take around 10 minutes.
- You can download a consultation form from this site by clicking here.This will allow you to fully complete the form before your treatment, giving more time for your treatment.
- For subsequent treatments it is always beneficial not to have to rush to or from your appointment.
Arriving at the Yoga Spot
For security, the main door of the Yoga Spot is kept locked.
When you arrive please be aware that yoga classes may be running (with a quiet relaxation period at the end) and I may be with another client until about 10 minutes prior to your treatment, so we may not be able to respond to the bell if you are very early.

Aftercare:
- Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins from your body. Toxins can be stored in tight muscles and other body tissues and complementary therapy treatments can encourage the body to release some of these toxins. When the body is well-hydrated these toxins can be flushed out of your body without too much inconvenience. Occasionally however, cold-like symptoms and a muzzy head can be some of the signs of detoxification and healing. Adequate intake of water is the best way to prevent these. A 10 stone person needs at least 2 litres of water a day for normal body functioning; a 15 stone person requires 3 litres per day. More should be taken when exercising. It is recommended you drink a small amount every 20 minutes or so, that way you will absorb the water rather than it passing straight through. This is easily achieved, even for those who say they don't like water!
- Avoid intake of the following toxins:
- Coffee
- Tea
- Fizzy drinks
- Tobacco
- Alcohol
Your body doesn't like them and it will make the healing process longer if you have them!
- Keep moving! Spend no longer than 30 minutes in one position - sitting, standing, lying down, for the remainder of the day, where possible. Ensure you walk at least a short distance each day to assist with the removal of toxins.
- After your treatment session it is not advisable to drive a long distance or engage in any strenuous activity.
- Listen to your body - it will give you the best advice!
- Trapped nerves cause the surrounding muscle tissue to go into spasm, leading to bruising and inflammation. This can take several days to settle down.
- It is likely you will need more than one treatment to rebalance your body; these are usually best one week apart.
- Sometimes miracles can happen but you may need to be patient while your body heals itself, particularly if you have had the problem for some time.
- You may be given specific exercises or stretches to perform to assist in the healing process. These are recommended to help you recover in the shortest possible time for you. Whether you do them is up to you but following them will help you get the best from your treatment. Remember that I am only there to help during the one hour treatment - you have the rest of the time to really make a difference!
